Are You Really Interested?

You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you.
Dale Carnegie

Try it…it really does work! Here are five little ways to make other people feel like you are interested in them:
Do’s…

1. Remember their name and their children or spouse
2. Send a note or text of encouragement (your mailman, groundskeeper, employees, etc.)
3. Spend some hard earned cash on them. (coffee, lunch, a candy bar, a donation for a mission trip)
4. If you say you are going to pray for them…then do it! Pray for their needs and remember to let them know specifically what you prayed for.
5. Listen, Listen, Listen!!! The first and last impression you ever give is the nonverbal communication of listening….

Don’ts…

1. Don’t answer texts or phone calls when people are talking
2. Don’t ask questions about “How they are doing” if you really can’t hang long enough (attention) to find out the “true” answer
3. Don’t tell people over and over “Let’s get together” and never set a time to actually “get together”.
4. Don’t focus only on you talking in a conversation
5. Don’t be afraid to ask people their name again
