When Should You Be Willing To Stop The Madness?
You know sometimes we must be willing to endure the ridicule to get rid of the mixture around us. Zerubbabal had a word from God in Haggai to go and rebuild the temple of God but in the midst of the building…some of the enemies of Judah sprung up and asked to also build with him. These people were not ordinary people they were Samaritans a people of mixture and though their help in building would have speeded up the process, added extra hands to the work, and given the people more down time Zerrubabal and Jeshua both said, “No”. Why because they both understood that they would rather stop building than to build connected to mixture!
For you and I some of us are faced everyday with the need for more help, more money, and more time! But let’s all be careful that we don’t sell the dream for a connection to mixture. God is moving today in the earth and forcing the contamination out…period! Let’s not invite it back in because we need it to be faster.
As a result, Zerrubabal stopped working and put up with their taunting and disgust because he was committed to purity and holiness in God’s house! Lord, help each of us this week to remember you are building a holy people!
