Thoughts On Character
So I am watching this espionage based film and there are two characters, one man is much older, obviously wiser and more experienced in life and the other is a younger man trying to conquer the world. The issue at hand was not the battle but the younger man’s way of solving problems. The older gentleman inspires the younger man with these words, “Character is easier kept than recovered.” How true is that?
A person’s character is a lifelong process that is built upon day by day…we forget that our daily decisions regardless of how minute, really does propel our influence forward or backward, there is no in between.
We all would like to believe that just because God forgives our poor decisions that this instantly fixes everything…but oftentimes we have to work harder at regaining the lost trust or confidence… In the end, was the effort to react in an outburst, become angry, spout off in arrogance, or betray a friend worth the effort it will take to recover the character lost?
Let’s all spend less time trying to recover and put our energy into keeping what we are building on, it also makes for sweet rest!
